Halo Lit Letters
Halo-Lit Lettering: Halo-Lit signs are typically preferred in mid to high end retail. This is when the face of the letter is made from aluminum, stainless steel, or other opaque material that fits in with your design and the neon is not directly visible. The light reflects back off the solid face of the sign and onto the facade of the building to give it a halo effect. Letters are usually placed an inch off the wall. As the spacing from the wall increases, the light spill will be less defined.

Vice versa, if you tighten up the space and put the letters closer to the wall, the light becomes more defined. The neon (or LEDs) are usually attached to an acrylic cover within the letter channel as to minimize the amount of holes drilled into the facade, as well as to reduce unwanted shadows. Halo-Lit letters are used to create a unique aura around the signage and are the aesthetic choice, prefered for high end retail, professional offices and residencies.
